Welcome to the Cervantino International Festival!
Reaching 54 years does not mean dwelling on nostalgia, but rather an opportunity to embrace the path traveled, give meaning to what has been learned, and open ourselves to what is yet to come. It is often said that, after the festival passes, our way of looking at things is never the same again. And it is true: the FIC transforms sensibility through encounter.
This edition will take place over 16 days, bringing together 94 artistic groups. Activities will be held at 17 venues, to which additional spaces have been added. Among them are Casa FIC, dedicated to traditional music; the San Pedro Garden Parking Lot, which is emerging as a stage for the most transgressive expressions of contemporary dance; and the Old Railway Station, where street theater and small-format interventions will be presented.
The heart of the festival beats with a specific accent. We celebrate France as the guest country, not by chance, but to honor a shared history that began in 1826, when Alexandre Martin arrived in Mexico as the first French commercial agent. These 200 years of diplomatic ties constitute a privileged platform today for Mexico to strengthen its dialogue with the European Union.
