La tuerta

A 16th-century maiden is blinded in one eye during her first love affair. Filled with resentment, she vows to avenge her love by casting a curse on a young dancer named Lucia, the effects of which we will see in modern times. Anne Sexton left us the verse: live or die, but don’t poison everything. These words became the starting point for La Tuerta, actor Jorge Usón’s debut film as a playwright and director. It’s a tragicomedy about the impossibility of loving and forgiving, served with humor, and where everything is based on an actress’s performance in an empty space. La Tuerta pays tribute to theater itself and to the power of forgiveness as a revolutionary and transformative element.
